The official history of the Golden Gate Hotel’s first casino in Vegas began in 1955 when a group of Italian Americans came to Nevada from the Bay Area. Italo, a leader in group gaming, built a playful reputation as a casino player for the next 40 decades. Back in 1964, the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino underwent a second expansion in order to hide its historical appearance and achieve even a modernized appearance.

- 1905: The property is acquired for GoldenGate (formerly Hotel Nevada), making it the very first casino in Vegas.
- 1907: The first Vegas telephone is installed at GoldenGate.

In 2012, Golden Gate Hotel & Casino experienced a major expansion for the first time in 50 decades, combining modern layout with history.
